How to make a lion cub go to sleep

(CBS) - Here at The Feed, we're all about news you can use. For example, what do you do when your lion cub just doesn't seem to want to go to bed? Luckily, this adorable video has the answer. Watch as this animal trainer puts his lion cub to sleep in the cutest way possible.

Look how content that little cub is. Guess the old "stick your thumb in the lion's mouth" move did the trick. The only problem with this technique, of course, is the part where you have to put your thumb in a lion's mouth. Seems a little risky - but still very, very cute.

Lion cub makes unlikely friend in cat

Cat comes down from tree in SC after 9 days

(AP) ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — Buster has finally come down from a 150-foot pine tree in northwestern South Carolina after nine days, but the cat's owners aren't happy with local officials.

Linda Megretto told the Anderson Independent-Mail she expected to find the cat dead Monday, but her husband climbed a 40-foot ladder and coaxed the cat down.

Megretto says Buster stayed in the tree through two storms after becoming afraid when a neighbor chased the cat from his barking dog.

She says she called the Humane Society, fire department, police and animal control and got no help.

Sheriff's spokesman Chad McBride says there's no record she called.

Fire Chief Billy Gibson says firefighters no longer respond to such calls because of liability issues. Gibson says putting food at the base of a tree usually works.

Rivas Wedding Best Man Speech

(CBS) - In the above video best man Beau Worley recently decided to take a very unique and interesting direction with his wedding speech by using - drum roll please - interpretative dance. The results are hilarious!

For those who want to jump right to it, the dancing kicks in at about two minutes into the video.

I've got to say I'm impressed with Beau's moves - I definitely was not expecting him to have so much style and grace on the dance floor.

And interesting timing, as I'm actually set to be best man at my friend's upcoming wedding and am still working out what to do for my speech. If my best friend and his soon-to-be-wife don't catch this video, I may try to take a page from Beau and bust out my own interpretative dance moves, as well. Just a thought.

Cats Try to Understand Treadmill

(CBS) - Cat scientists are working day and night to try and understand this odd moving land device that has shown up at their home. The humans call it - wait for it - a treadmill!

The simultaneously hilarious and adorable video shows two cats, Snowball and Pepper, who are trying to understand a treadmill (that is turned on and moving) while their owners watch and laugh.

You'll definitely be laughing too as you see them diligently testing and working to try and grasp what this odd device is in their home.

You can do anything

(CBS) - We all need a little boost sometimes, so here's a feel-good video to help you get through the rest of the week. Meet Sadie. She draws pictures. And she believes you can do whatever you want. Watch and see.

I may be a bit tongue-in-cheek on my introduction to Sadie, but I have to say that was a very sweet video with an excellent message that (yes) made my day a bit brighter watching. I'm hoping it does the same for you and that you feel some of that connectedness that Sadie spoke about. Preach, sister!

Brendon Smith Blunt Scooters Web Edit 2011

(CBS) - It's time to up the ante, get our extreme on and show you something hardcore here on The Feed. And what's the most extreme, hardcore thing we could possibly show you? Scooters!

That's right, scooters... except I'm not kidding. Wait until you see this video and get ready to be blown away.

The amazing video was put together by Brendon Smith who writes that his compilation of stunts were performed over the course of 2-3 months.

If you're like me, you're probably shocked right now by how impressed you are over a video involving... scooter tricks. Really just amazing stuff - we here at The Feed salute you, Brendon!

Swan and a tractor: A love story

They say love comes in all shapes and sizes - a phrase that couldn't be more fitting when it comes to a bond between a tractor and a swan.

In the landscape surrounding a hotel in Germany, an eight-year-old swan named "Schwani" has developed a strange infatuation with a blue tractor.

The hotelier, Herman Josef Hericks, says Schwani just can't get enough of the mechanical companion.

Residents of Schwani's village in northwestern Germany say the improbable love affair has been going on for years.

According to Mr. Hericks, experts can't pinpoint why he is so crazy about the tractor, but they think Schwani might have been exposed to loud machines when he was young.

LOL: Ducks on an escalator

(CBS) - We thought we'd seen it all after "Snakes on a Plane." But no, wild animals continue to find themselves in places they probably shouldn't be. Take, for example, these ducks. What are they doing in the mall? More importantly, don't they know better than to try going up the down escalator? Silly ducks.

It's been a good week for birdlife here at The Feed. The ticklish penguin probably had more fun than these confused mallards. But both videos taught us a valuable lesson, one that we are always relearning: animals are just as wacky and complex as people. Really, who hasn't tried to use the wrong escalator before?

TSA Agent Arrested-Accused Of Raping 14 Year Old Girl

TSA Discriminates against disabled people then violates rights to privacy

Humiliation! Discrimination warning over airport body scanners-
The equality watchdog has called on the government to explain its plans for the use of body scanners at airports, citing concerns about racial profiling and privacy.

This weekend the Equality and Human Rights Commission said it had written to the Home Secretary Alan Johnson to urge the "utmost caution" over such technology.
Backscatter X-ray body scanners, which produce a ghostly naked image of their subjects, are currently in trials at Manchester Airport. The UK's largest airport operator, BAA, has said it will install machines "as soon as is practical" at Heathrow.

"The Commission is concerned that that the proposals to introduce body scanners are likely to have a negative impact on individuals' rights to privacy, especially members of particular groups including disabled people, older people, children, transgendered people, women and religious groups," it said.

"Under the Human Rights Act, any infringement of the right to privacy must be justified, necessary and proportionate."

The Commission was set up to independently monitor Human Rights Act compliance.

In the wake of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's failed Christmas Day bombing of a transatlantic airliner above Detroit, Gordon Brown said the government would "examine a range of new techniques to enhance airport security systems... these could include advancing our use of explosive trace technology, full body scanners and advanced x-ray technology."

Johnson has also suggested that air travellers could be selected for scanning by "additional targeted passenger profiling".

"We will be considering all the issues involved, mindful of civil liberties concerns, aware that identity based profiling has its limitations, but conscious of our overriding obligations to protect peoples' life and liberty," he told the Commons earlier this month.

The Commission yesterday warned Johnson that discrimination on racial or religious grounds is illegal.

"In the absence of any evidence provided by the government, the Commission remains to be convinced that the proposals on profiling set out by the Home Secretary are an effective response to the current threat, and are therefore justifiable," it said.

"The Commission is therefore not convinced that the proposals amount to a lawful, or proportionate response to the current threat."

Body scanners have also drawn fire from child protection groups. The Manchester trial also had to be revised last year after suggestions that scanning children could violate child pornography laws.

TSA scares and violates child's personal space

In the UK there are laws against this type of behaviour for example teachers are not allowed to put their arms around children at school when they are crying. The USA is becoming a fascist state which infringes on human rights and violates rights to privacy all in the name of terrorism.

U.S. GOV puts 6 year old girl on Terror Watch List

( Is she on the new Assassination List too???)

If the U.S. GOV can make a clerical error like this what is to say they don't assassinate her by mistake too? With the new law allowing the government to kill anyone they want. VIDEO- U.S. GOV can kill ANYONE including YOU without trial COVERTLY !!-

U.S. GOV can kill ANYONE including YOU without trial COVERTLY !!
Methods used will be poisoning, road traffic accidents, lethal vaccinations, being shot in the head, being abducted and tortured, disappearance and anyway that makes out it was accidental death thus saving on paperwork and inquiries. U.S. intelligence will covertly assess your behavior and movements then base the assassination around your everyday activities. This law will be abused and no one will know ;)

Ladies and Gentleman, the U.S. Government has just declared war on the general public.

TSA Abuse

The TSA calls them another weapon in the fight against terrorism. Advanced Imaging Technology, or body scans, are at 41 airports, including BWI.

The machines are meant to detect a wide range of threats. But even children could be picked by an agent to move through one, which doesn't sit well with Michelle Nemphos of Cockeysville.

Her 12-year-old daughter, whom she did not want to appear on camera, was at Tampa International Airport on vacation with a family friend when a TSA officer chose her.

"It's an image of a nude child that they're seeing. This is child pornography whether people want to believe this or not. How is this any different," said Nemphos.

A TSA spokeswoman say the agency's protocol protects privacy. Sari Koshetz says "The officer viewing the image is in a locked room with no windows. The door to the locked room is not opened until the passenger has cleared the checkpoint and the images have been deleted. Should the two officers need to communicate, that is done with whisper headsets."

For Nemphos, that's not enough, not only for her child, but anyone under age 18.

"People think that this is a blurry image. It is not a blurry image. It is an image of a naked person," she said.

Nemphos is still waiting on a response from the TSA. Meantime, her story is grabbing the attention of national media. She hopes to changes policies and no children will be scanned at the airport.

"Overall, we need to trust our government. I'm certainly a patriot just like anyone else is. But there are certain things we need to look into for ourselves and for the sake of our children," said Nemphos.

The body scans are optional. And there are signs informing passengers. But the alternative is a pat down.

The ACLU added this: "The ACLU opposes using intrusive body scans as part of a routine screening procedure. Passengers expect privacy underneath their clothing and should not be required to display highly personal details of their bodies as a pre-requisite to boarding a plane. This is especially true of children, because there are legitimate concerns about an adult viewing strikingly graphic images of a child's body. The Transportation Security Administration needs to ensure that people know they can object to the scans, and have an opportunity to object, particularly if the scan would be of a child."

The TSA added: The technology used in the Advanced Imaging Machines in Tampa and in Baltimore is millimeter wave technology, which meets national and international health and safety standards. The energy emitted by these machines is thousands of times less than what is permitted for a cell phone.

TSA makes great efforts to ensure the privacy of the public is protected. Privacy protocols are in place that prevent the officer attending to the passenger from ever seeing the image and the officer who views the image never sees the passenger. The officer viewing the image is in a locked room with no windows. The door to the locked room is not opened until the passenger has cleared the checkpoint and the images have been deleted. Should the two officers need to communicate, that is done with whisper headsets. As part of the privacy protections, the machines cannot store, print nor transmit the images and they are deleted immediately after viewing. Additional privacy protections include the fact that faces are blurred and the image is like a fuzzy photographic negative.

Any passenger capable of assuming and holding the AIT stance for 5 seconds is eligible for AIT screening. Parents carrying infants or children will not be screened by the imaging technology. Parents/adults accompanying children may opt out of imaging technology screening for themselves or on behalf of the child. Again, imaging technology is optional for all passengers. Multiple signs are posted throughout the checkpoint queue and on the advanced imaging technology units notifying passengers of their options. The goal is to inform passengers of these options without negatively impacting security line wait times, which has been demonstrated when security officers engage each passenger in conversation.

A police officer cruelly pepper sprayed a baby squirrel despite traumatised and horrified students who were close by screaming at him to stop.
A video recorded by one of the students that was posted on YouTube has sparked outrage in the city of Mesquite, Texas.
The tiny animal, which is barely the size of the police officer's foot, is seen scurrying around outside, not harming or bothering anyone.
The officer is then seen repeatedly spraying the animal after it apparently began chasing the students of Kimbrough Middle School.
